The 13-year veteran who exploded on the scene with wins in consecutive weeks at the 2002 International and PGA Championship played the 2011 season on a major medical exemption. He had played hurt through the first three months of the 2010 season before undergoing treatment for a bulging disc in April. He played just two PGA Tour events at the end of the Fall Series and missed the cut in both. The son of a career Army man did, though, remain active in supporting military veterans’ causes and was a member of the players Advisory Board through the season. In 2011 he managed just five cuts in 21 events and so is in the Past Champions category for 2012.
